Sedona Devil’s Bridge Sunrise Surprise Proposal

It’s capturing special moments like these that make me fall more (than I thought possible) in love with my job.

Let me start off with saying – not only was this moment a dream moment for this amazing couple but for myself as well, because the lucky lady in this photo is my beautiful sister.

Before I share how this photo was captured, let me give you some background.

This photo took weeks of planning and preparation; from helping choose the ring, deciding on which national park, last minute REI runs for headlamps, and shutting off location sharing. ALL for my sister, who I love dearly but damn, she owe’s me 😉

But, let’s not get too into the weeds… After months of sneaking around, planning, and secrets. Proposal day came, it did NOT begin like any other day. Instead it started with a magical 3AM alarm clock and a 2hr drive from PHX to Sedona. We donned our shiny new REI headlamps and started hiking out at 5:30AM to catch Sedona’s Devil’s Bridge sunrise.

Not Picture: My setup, which included my two cameras (1) a tripod with a clicker in hand and (2) my zoom lens hand held and (3) my phone recording the whole moment. Due to the privacy requested from the couple, I am only sharing some snippets of this magical sunrise proposal. But this moment was too spectacular not to share!!

Who’s next? I’m ready, I already have my headlamp 😉

Keep exploring…
